Wellspring Hanoi is currently seeking a qualified and passionate Secondary English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join its growing international teaching team.

Position Details

📍 Location: Hanoi, Vietnam

📚 Position: Secondary English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher

🕒 Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with the curriculum and pacing guides.

• Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that support learners of varying ability levels.

• Use ongoing assessment data to adapt instruction and maximize student achievement.

• Maintain a safe, positive, and productive classroom environment.

• Cover classes when required by the Head of Teachers, Vice Principal, or direct supervisor.

• Participate in professional development programs and training sessions.

• Assist in developing curriculum materials and learning resources.

• Observe colleagues and provide constructive feedback as part of the school's professional growth program.

• Attend weekly grade-level and subject meetings.

• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and coordinate lesson delivery.

• Assign meaningful homework in accordance with school policies.

• Participate in monthly student progress meetings and maintain communication records.

Administrative Duties

• Assess and grade student work in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate grade books and student records.

• Participate in annual performance evaluations.

• Support the planning and organization of school events and academic programs.

• Complete all required administrative documentation, including leave requests and work permit paperwork.

• Follow all school policies and procedures.

Parent & Community Communication

• Submit weekly lesson plans and student planners.

• Attend parent-teacher conferences each semester.

• Write detailed student progress reports and comments twice per semester.

• Respond to parent communications promptly and professionally.

• Participate in meetings with parents when required.

• Communicate student concerns and achievements with supervisors and relevant staff.

School Community Involvement

• Contribute to school-wide events and activities such as:

  • Science Fair

  • Reading Week

  • Writing Competitions

  • Project-Based Learning Events

• Support extracurricular and community-building initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants should possess:

Education

✔ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education (B.Ed/M.Ed) or a related field

OR

✔ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant subject area plus a recognized teaching qualification such as:

• PGCE

• State Teaching License

• Professional Teaching Certification

Experience

✔ Minimum of 2 years' full-time teaching experience

✔ Experience in an international school or bilingual school environment is highly preferred
