Job Description
TSTC faculty members deliver approved curriculum, assessments, and learning experiences in an applied instructional environment. This role includes facilitating engaging activities and discussions, supporting a range of learning styles, and providing mentorship to students.
Faculty also administer assessments, interpret results, and offer constructive feedback to promote academic growth. Effective use of instructional technology is essential to elevating student learning. Faculty serve as program ambassadors and representatives of TSTC.
Note: This is a Texas-based position. Candidates must be current residents of Texas.

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery
Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction
Develop course syllabi and instructional plans
Use creative and innovative teaching strategies
Facilitate student learning in an applied setting
Instructional Management
Maintain accurate student records
Ensure a safe and secure instructional environment
Provide opportunities for continuous student assessment
Student Retention & Placement
Advise students with timely and accurate information
Collaborate with the Office of Student Success on tutoring and retention initiatives
Program Recruitment & Promotion
Participate in recruitment tours and events
Assist with departmental planning and outreach initiatives
Teamwork & Service
Demonstrate professionalism and courtesy
Maintain flexibility with occasional evening, weekend, or summer assignments
Work effectively as part of a team
Support TSTC’s mission, vision, and values

Proficiency with collaborative tools: Google Suite, Microsoft Office/365, Microsoft Teams, Zoom
Understanding of LMS platforms and online pedagogy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team and maintain punctuality
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
Online teaching experience
Competency-based education experience
Experience with non-traditional face-to-face instruction
Familiarity with: Canvas LMS, Simple Syllabus, Workday
Ability to adapt to varied instructional methodologies
Minimum of three years of teaching experience in the discipline
Education & Experience Requirements
Doctorate or master’s degree in English OR
Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in English
