Since its founding in 2012, Lyngo LLC has supported thousands of learners in developing and improving their second-language skills. The company is now seeking enthusiastic Native English teachers and Bilingual English–Japanese instructors to teach online from home through its ZEnglish Program, serving students across Japan.

About the Position

Location: Fully online — instructors teach from the comfort of their homes. Lyngo provides personal training and all structured instructional materials.

Schedule: Class times are available from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Japanese Standard Time (JST).

Workload: Current instructors teach anywhere from 6 to 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities: Teachers focus on making English learning enjoyable while helping students develop natural communication and conversational skills across all age groups.

Benefits

  • Compensation ranges from JPY 450 for a 25-minute class to JPY 1,300 for a 45-minute class, depending on class type and incentives

Requirements

Lyngo seeks teachers with engaging personalities, a sense of humor, and the ability to motivate and inspire every student.

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • Native English speakers (no Japanese required), or

  • Native Japanese speakers with basic English skills (for Beginner/Entry-level classes)

Additional requirements include:

  • Fast, reliable internet connection

  • A computer running Windows 10 or 11 with Microsoft Office (online version acceptable)

  • A webcam and USB headset compatible with Zoom or Microsoft Teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Availability between 8:00 p.m. and midnight (JST), with strong preference for weekend availability

  • Previous teaching experience and certifications (beneficial but not required)

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint
