About the Position

Location: Nationwide (Honshu and Kyushu) Position: English Teacher Contract Length: 1 year (first-year contracts must be one year; teachers work exclusively for Amity during this period) Schedule: 5-day, 40-hour work week — Tuesday to Saturday Working Hours: 10:00–19:00, 11:00–20:00, or 12:00–21:00 Relocation: Position requires moving to Japan

Responsibilities

  • Teach English conversation classes to students aged 6 months to 18 years

  • Create engaging and creative lessons using Amity’s methods and materials

  • Communicate regularly with parents about weekly lesson content

  • Interview and counsel prospective students

  • Promote Amity products and services

  • Interact daily with students and parents in the school lobby

  • Prepare progress reports during designated periods each year

Requirements

Successful candidates are enthusiastic about working with children, quick to learn Amity’s teaching methodology, and flexible in adapting to life and work in Japan.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (required)

  • Native-level English proficiency

  • Completion of elementary through university education in English

  • Experience working with children of various ages

Additional Preferred Attributes

  • Teaching experience or academic background in education

  • Outgoing, child-friendly personality

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Openness to learning and applying Amity’s methods

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong teamwork skills

  • Japanese language ability (an asset)
