Job Overview
Astor International School is seeking a passionate and dedicated ESL Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and assess lessons that support students in developing English skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. You will work with learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, helping them thrive both academically and socially.

Our school offers a focused and creative learning environment, strengthening student understanding in Mathematics, Literacy, Humanities, and Science, while integrating art, music, dance, and drama as meaningful tools for exploration and expression.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Lesson Delivery
Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students’ proficiency levels.
Use interactive, inquiry-based teaching methods to develop English language skills.
Design materials that support varied learning needs.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
Conduct regular assessments to track student growth.
Provide constructive feedback and adjust instruction as needed.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
Student Support
Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that builds confidence.
Support students in overcoming language and cultural challenges.
Offer additional help through targeted resources or one-on-one support.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with fellow teachers and school leaders to enhance learning outcomes.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and challenges.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with ESL best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field
TEFL/TESOL/CELTA or state-approved ESL certification
Native English speaker
Strong understanding of second-language acquisition
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
Preferred Attributes
Experience teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds
Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to student success
Ability to adapt instruction for individual and group needs
Working Conditions
Classroom-based teaching, push-in support, play duty, and extracurricular involvement
Flexibility to support school schedules, including occasional evenings or weekends
