Job Description Do you love teaching, travelling, and making a global impact? Join Peace Boat’s 123rd Global Voyage and experience the world while contributing to international education and development.
Peace Boat’s language programme, GET, is now accepting applications for volunteer English and Spanish teachers. Through practical, task-based learning, you will teach motivated adult learners while also engaging with guest educators—academics, peace advocates, sustainability specialists, entertainers, and more—all during a full circumnavigation of the globe.
The 123rd Global Voyage sets sail from Yokohama, Japan on April 7, 2026 and returns on July 20, 2026. This unforgettable journey includes:
🌍 24 ports, 20 countries
❄️ Visits to 3 Arctic Circle ports + the fjords of Svalbard 🏛 Egypt, Turkey, Europe’s heritage sites 🌆 New York, Honolulu, and more

Applicants typically submit a 10-minute demo lesson video, but you may choose to deliver your demo live during your interview.

We practice communication-based lessons to improve students' confidence and communicative ability through a dynamic combination of onboard classwork, language-based events and activities, and exchange programs in ports of call. Students can acquire the necessary language skills to make their voyage memorable and meaningful. The program allows teachers to work with great autonomy, using their creativity in and out of the classroom while enjoying the unique Peace Boat experience.
Salary and benefits
Free room, board & 3 month Global Voyage and Visa fees covered.
Requirements
18 months of relevant full-time experience teaching English and Spanish as a second language. Be highly advanced speakers of English or Spanish. Note: it is not necessary to be a 'native' or 'first-language' speaker. Be available for the voyage (including online training and pre-voyage orientation periods). Obtain all relevant visas required to participate in the journey for which they are applying.
